Missionary Society Ministry
Mission Statement: To glorify God by ministering to the human felt needs of the disadvantaged, the poor, the hungry, the sick and shut-in, and convalescent residents through Christian love, compassion, and care. (Philippians 4:13, Proverbs 14:21, Mark 8:1-3)
Sunday School Superintendent
Mission Statement: To help people of all ages study God’s word leading them to know and respond to Jesus Christ. It is our goal to effectively teach God’s word under the auspice of the Holy Spirit, thereby transforming lives spiritually. (Ephesians 4:11-12, 2 Timothy 2:15)
Usher Ministry
Mission Statement: To greet and provide hospitable service for the congregants, ensuring their needs are met while providing a watchful eye of the overall service. (Psalm 84:10b)
Youth and Young Adult Ministry
Mission Statement:
- To be a ministry driven by the Word of God.
- To nourish, enrich and strengthen the children of God with the Knowledge of God.
- Allowing them to be used by God in order to do the work of God; therefore, bringing other children to God.
- We must focus on equipping them with every tool needed to be a child of God in a world against God.
- Lastly, as they grow in age, our goal is that they grow in the Lord – Loving, Knowing, Experiencing Him in every aspect of life, in Spirit and Truth.
Children’s Church Ministry
Mission Statement: To (1) reach saved and unsaved children, ages 4–12 years old, within the church and community; (2) to make disciples for Christ; (3) to meet the spiritual needs of children; (4) to teach children church etiquette, ordinances, and reverence for God’s house. (Matthew 28:19–20)
Audio Visual Ministry
Mission Statement: To enhance the sound and visual aspects of the worship services and other church activities through the use of audio and visual technology. It is of utmost importance that the Word of God goes forth with clarity and with power. (Colossians 2:16)
Pastor’s Aide Ministry
Mission Statement: To minister to the whole man where needed; to provide spiritual, financial, and physical (food) support and encouragement to our Pastor. To strive to be the leaders that the Lord would have us to be by sharing, caring, praying for our Pastor and his family. (1 Timothy 5:17)
Family Events Coordinator
Mission Statement: To lovingly serve the members of Olivet Baptist Church in providing servanthood direction for event planning in a timely, professional manner and that God is glorified by our service. All that we do we do unto Him. (Genesis 2:23–24)
Music and Worship Arts
Mission Statement: To render reasonable service in true praise unto God and declare His doing for His glory and the edification of His people through Christ Jesus. (Psalm 9:11, Psalm 22:22)
Mother’s Board Ministry
Mission Statement: To provide a Christ-centered, Bible-based, and Holy Spirit-led perspective to our youth, teenagers, and mothers by teaching, advising and demonstrating to them how to walk Christ-like. This ministry is through seasoned mothers of the age 50 years and up. (Titus 2:3–4)
