Pastoral History
Current Pastor — Bishop Mark L. Monroe
In 2024, Bishop Mark L. Monroe was called to lead Olivet Baptist Church into a new season of growth. Under his leadership, the church looks forward to deepening spiritual engagement, expanding community outreach, enhancing facilities, and strengthening its digital presence.

Servant Harold Crump (2007–2024)
Under Rev. Crump, the biblical principles of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus the Christ were emphasized. He ensured the teachings of Jesus were included in every message.

Rev. Aaron Greenlea (1998–2006)
Rev. Greenlea devoted his life to selflessly fighting for equal rights for all. He had a remarkable ability to listen with both mind and heart, helping people understand one another despite differences. He worked tirelessly in the community. Under his leadership at Olivet Baptist Church, the remaining loan was paid off — a great blessing to the church!

Founding Pastor — Dr. L. Venchael Booth (1984–1998)
As the founding Pastor, Dr. Booth led with deep community involvement and strong friendships. Through his connections, Carl H. Lindner, Jr., a wealthy financier, offered to finance the purchase of the church. The challenge was raising a down payment. The church was blessed by contributions from a wealthy Christian woman and a Black businessman, allowing the building to be purchased in August 1984. Dr. Booth emphasized from the beginning the biblical precepts of “Love and Forgiveness,” which became a cornerstone of the Church’s fellowship.
